My WireView Pro 2 arrived today and I set it up. I have an Gigabyte RTX 5090 Gaming OC which was connected using the native Corsair 12v 2x6 cable (from HX1500i 2025 - ATX 3.1) and was running okay, no burn marks or any issues whatsoever so I assume it was fairly balanced.
I used a CableMod 12v 2x6 90° to 4x8 PCI-e this time with the WireView Pro 2 and it seems that pin 8 has on average more amperes compared to the other pins. Pin 2 is usually the one with the least amperes.
I switched back to the Corsair 12v 2x6 cable to test it out with WireView Pro 2 and this time the amperage of the pins is more even out and balanced.
Posting screenshots from the CableMod cable when the system was idle compared to running FurMark 4K:
Here are the same tests with the native Corsair cable:
Is either of these cables presenting a serious imbalance or is this expected? I am not entirely sure when to start panicking. Overall I find the Corsair cable to have better balanced amperage across all pins.
Also, with both cables, I noticed pin 2 has always the lowest amperage on average. I use stock settings on the WireView Pro 2, except for imbalance limit, which I reduced to 30% from 40% to have stricter margins.
I am considering sticking with the Corsair cable for now although I prefer the CableMod one due to the 4xPCI-e connection on the PSU side. I also tried wiggling them and pressing the individual cables to the connectors but no visible change was seen.
Thanks a lot
