Hey y’all I just want to explain the situation I am facing right now and get your perspectives. I basically got a kitten back in May of last year, my roommate already had a kitten who is a couple months older. I told her I was getting a kitten and she understood, she thought it would be great for the two cats to keep each other company. Fast forward it all became an issue when she accused my cat of giving her a virus whole time it was bedbugs in her room. I then brought my kitten to my moms to prevent him from being bitten and then a couple months later I left the country for three months so during that time he was with my mom. When I came back I took him back to the apartment. And it was fine again until she said my cat is causing problems within the apartment and disrupting them, the cats interactions were nothing excessive or out of the ordinary. She wanted me to keep him in my room until I returned from school, I was upset about that because why would you want your cat to roam around freely but want mine to be confined. Her and my other roommate contacted the landlord and the landlord told me I should have asked her for permission and told me to get rid of my cat. I really did not know much about my rights as a tenant I didn’t understand that the landlord can not just tell me to get rid of my pet. Now I want to bring him back to the apartment and they are all against it with the same complaints he’s interfering with their peace. The landlord also threatened me with an eviction through email and held an in person meeting telling me I have to leave. Not only did she not hear my side but she also stated I am not a good fit for the apartment. I have spoken to the apartment manager who has told me a maximum of three cats are allowed in each unit and I was also told by the LTB that the landlord can not force me to get rid of my pet
