To the people who left their grandpa alone at a restaurant yesterday..
A family came into my restaurant for dinner yesterday. It looked like a mom, two adult kids, and a grandpa. The server let me know the family seemed a little anxious to get up and go, but the grandpa hadn't even touched half his meal. I watched as everyone cashed out and left the grandpa alone. He tried to act like it didn't bother him and struck up a conversation with the server instead. I couldn't bare to see this happen, so I asked my regulars if they could do me a favor and make a friend. Without hesitation, they sat down with him and talked until he finished his meal. When they finally got up to leave, they shook hands like old friends. The smile on the grandpa's face brought me to tears. I hope he comes back to join us again.
