HELLO!

As the title says I found this baby turtle in my grandmas backyard. I’m thinking about taking care of it for a little until it gets bigger because the area she just moved into is a new house plotting area, so there’s still a bunch of houses around here that are still being built and are under construction and I’m scared it’s gonna wander somewhere it shouldn’t and lose its life. I did a little research and I THINK it’s a Red-Eared slider but I’m not 100% sure. Can someone please help me identify and give me possible tips to help take care of it, or just tell me I’m stupid and to release it back in the wild, whichever is best for the turtle.
