I painted my first atalan jackal recently, is this a good way to go with painting others?

Float Attribute not applying.

I'm trying to add the Float Attribute to the materials of a model I want to tone down the lighting of. But it's taking forever to apply, taking upwards of 10 minutes before I had to stop it because it just froze SFM and did nothing. Any tips? Or do I just have to wait longer?
