(Picture of my pink coffin shaped book shelf) Help! I need book recommendations for something devastating and well written. I need angst, true enemies to lovers, extremely high stakes, and tension… omg the tension. I want to feel like I’m clawing at my skin from all the feelings. I like spicy, primal, bdsm, dom/sub, dubcon, imprisoned, the kink can be alllll the things, but I also love gentle tender scenes. I love demons, vampires, fae, witches, paranormal of all sorts, eretheral, fated mates, etc. bonus points to finished series
My absolute favorite books so far that have just broken me in the best way have been:
The ascended
When the moon hatched
The crystal bloom series
The poison daughter
Until the world falls down
Quicksilver & brimstone
Phantasma
Enchantra
Books I loved but didn’t alter my brain chemistry
Crown of nyaxia series although they weren’t as intense fo me but I still loved the books
Her soul to take (I read the other two books in the series and wasn’t as hooked as the first one)
Villains and virtues series was good-ish
Eyes of devious burgundy (dnf’d the second because it became too smutty, emotionless, and I didn’t like the fmc personality in the second book)
Obsidian & diamond dust
Daughter of no worlds (I liked it but didn’t read the second book because it wasn’t as compelling as her other series)
Books I DNF’d or hated:
Plated prisoner series (terribly written)
The last hour of gann (I was so bored with the writing I stopped before the mmc and fmc even met)
Forged in blood/bound in blood - meh nobody seemed to have real emotional connections for my taste
Strange the dreamer/muse of nightmares - hated the ending and I need my character physically close to each other
For whom the belle tolls - I was so bored with lack of action
Nocticadia - the last 1/3 of the book was great… the first 2/3 soooooooo boring I just briefly skimmed the pages … and I’m a science major so I was so disappointed
Also no ACOTAR recs, no highschool aged lovers, and no YA… I need some spice and YA feels so weird to read when the characters are underage so no thank you
