I was so excited to find this subreddit and all the info on it bc I have been struggling with my top loading laundry machine, especially with darks on cool and gentle. Many of my clothes especially workout pants will come out with whitish, kinda sticky(?) residue that sort of looks like streaks of concentrated lint. So after reading a few threads, I bought ammonia and citric acid and tide clean and gentle powder, and I’m ready to test it out!
Looking for confirmation that my plan is correct (for darks on cool, no wool or silk): start cycle, wait a few, powder plus half a cup ammonia in basin, wait a few, clothes in, run cycle until finished, sprinkle half a cup of citric acid powder, run rinse cycle.
