Watching a few races recently, it feels like teams sometimes panic a bit after a single bad stint.
A driver loses a bit of pace, maybe struggles on a tire phase, and suddenly:
they box earlier than planned
they switch strategy completely
they try to 'recover' instead of sticking to the original plan
But then a few laps later, the pace stabilizes and it makes you wonder if the initial call was actually the better long-term play.
Obviously things like degradation, traffic, and undercuts matter, but it still feels like some decisions are more reactive than planned.
Curious how you guys see it:
Do you think teams trust their pre-race strategy enough, or do they adjust too quickly based on what’s happening in the moment?
