Liberal Studies (Arts) To Nursing?
Okay guys to help for reference I am located in California. I will be receiving my BA in Liberal Studies. I was planning on starting my credential program to become an elementary teacher in the fall. But I am now having second thoughts. When I first started college I was a pre health major. I completely bombed my first semester and ended up on academic probation. My sophomore year of college I freaked out and decided to change my major to Liberal Studies because I wanted something easier. But to be fair I was 18 at the time and my priorities were definitely not set straight. So skip forward now I really regret not pursuing nursing. Especially when I think about the lifestyle I want to live, and it truly is something that interests me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved my time I spent pursuing my teaching career but pay/salary wise just doesn’t seem fair with the days a teacher has to go through. I’ve decided to put a pause on my credential program this fall. I want to try to take a few courses at a community college and get my feet wet with the nursing career. My time in highschool I was able to take a CNA course and get CNA certified. My question is am I doing the right choice? I’ll take any advice I can get! I am almost certain this is what I want to try out. I feel that my dedication and motivation will get me to where I want to be especially now that I’ve matured. I’m 22 if that helps. Thanks guys!
