Recently, I've come into the issue while making a big Collab. I have many mappers, but the tags for putting the mappers' names are limited to only 1000 characters. I did some digging and found this issue, which is still Open. I wanted to see if others have run into this before. I asked a couple of mappers that actually were really close on pushing this limit. For example:
Bloxi (Host of Gypsy In My Mind (Disco Rave Edit 2022) (Sped Up & Cut Ver.)) said:"if you link that post peppy made where it says put them in the description instead i think it would be pretty easy for them to adjust the rc to reflect that"
Andrea (Host of Nico Nico Douga Ryuuseigun) said:"It would be definitely nice to see it implemented, that's for sure"
- Nilou - (Host of Anime 2024 Mix) said:"yeah i had this issue too i just eliminated some extra tags i added"
These are more maps that push this limit and probably a lot of Graveyard maps that push this limit, which would otherwise be completely fine for being Ranked instead.
In my opinion, there could be a separate list for the names of mappers that still would be searchable and indexable in the Beatmap Listings.
A GMT member for example said:"they should be searchable, probably if the difficulty owners can be set as searchable in both lazer and stable, it could be fixed".
If adding anything to stable is impossible, then maybe at least increasing the amount of tags a map can have would be good.
This issue has come up a couple of times in the past as well. It might be a niche issue, but a fix for this would be really good for the future, as the maps that push this cap will only increase.
I want to revive the issue on GitHub, so I want to collect some thoughts on this from other people.
