Got a seller on wanting 3.5k for a non starter. Full service history for 150k kms. Looks in really good condition by pics. Says it won't start after putting in new battery and jumping. I've asked Q's but seems he doesn't want to deal much with it anymore.

How would I diagnose this? Any tips on what it could be? I'm thinking of risking it and just offering 2k, if I can't get it going I'll just part it out.

What scanning tool should I buy for this?

It looks really clean and pretty low ks, very tempting. I've got a multimeter and know my way around troubleshooting stuff. car sales link

Got a guy saying his 2008 530i won't start with a new battery in it. I'm a fitter by trade and pretty handy at fixing stuff and troubleshooting. Is this worth me having a go at this, I don't think it's cranking and could be something electrical. Full service books and 150k kms on the clock. It actually looks well looked after and I like a challenge. Probably part it out for 2.5k minimum anyway Australia dollars.
