I was tested at 9 years old, I don’t remember what my score was but I remember the score being slightly into the genius range. I’m guessing by maybe a couple points. I wish I could remember the number but I don’t.
(Sorry, I’m gonna over explain the scenario)
I remember clearly that it was just barely in the genius range because my whole family tested and there was a bit of competition in the air about it. And I remember feeling a little insecure about testing because I was a slower reader (later understood as dyslexia and adhd but I only learned this many years later)
I feared being stupid but when my scores showed I was mildly “genius” I now feared the competitive and violent nature of my dad. So when he tried to boast about my scores, I tried to downplay them by qualifying that it’s only a genius score for a 9 years old.
ANYWAY
So that’s why I clearly recall that I was just touching into the genius scores but not the exact numbers. But I’d like to retest now, as an adult. But it seems there’s a lot of differing opinions on which tests are the best. Plus I’d like to know if and how accommodations are made for things like adhd and dyslexia. I’d like for it to be accurate with those things considered but maybe not rigging it disproportionately in my favor.
