Hey y'all, recently for allergy related reasons I went to an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor for the first time ever. They noticed a lump on my uvula and had the other doctors come in and get some second opinions and stuff, and they said it was most likely a papilloma and they said it was most likely caused by HPV, and I was like "oh, so what should I do?" They were like well we can wait a bit to see if it grows, and just keep an eye on it or we can take it out surgically sometime. I was like "oh okay I'll think about it" and went on my way.

But after getting home I was thinking... sooo do I have HPV? How would I even get tested? I'm a trans woman, and what I've read is it is hard to test for HPV in men. I swear I've had this lump on my uvula since college back in 2020 at least. So would the virus be cleared out of me? Or is a lump less like a scar and more like as long as it is there it contains a viral load? Should I tell all my friends that I make out with and say out of the blue "Hey maybe I have HPV?" or would that freak them out cus all I have to show for it is maybe a lump on my uvula I've had for 6 years? Any advice friends? xP
