To all those (and you know who you are) who speculated this woman was crossing against the light, read the attached. FYI, I knew the victim. Of note:
the investigating officer is looking into a Class 1 misdemeanor charge of careless driving resulting in injury or death.
The pedestrian killed in Old Town North last month was walking within a marked crosswalk with an active countdown on the pedestrian beacon signal, according to a recently released search warrant affidavit.
The 46-year-old male driver stopped approximately 40 feet from where police found her body
