I saw a YouTube video where this guy put the same of 3 buildings together, 2 of them were clipping through the ground so only the tops would show. But mine just drags the terrain down with it

Idk if it’s too late bc I alr made the roads but I really don’t have a plan, how do I know what areas to put my highrises and my smaller buildings, commercial, row houses, ect. I have no idea what to do now that I’ve made these roads I was just placing roads down with no plan

How do I transition this highway into my city? I don’t think I did the exits and entrances too bad but how do I actually connect it to the arterial roads

I’ve always loved watching this game but I’ve never been able to do it myself no matter how many times I’ve tried. Could anyone tell me or show me what I’m doing wrong, and what I could change to make this better?
