My experience and solution to managing Seborrheic dermatitis

I wanted to start by saying that this specific combination of products has kept my seborrheic dermatitis under control for years now. My symptoms included flaking around my nose, and flaking starting at both temples that spread around the back like a crown. It was both itchy and sometimes inflamed when it flairs up.

Products:

  1. Nizoral Anti Dandruff Shampoo with 1% Ketoconazole

  2. Ordinary Squalane Oil

The biggest problem i ran into was how drying Nizorial was initially after shampooing my hair that it often caused more flaking than anything so after testing dozens of treatments i found that dropping squalane oil into affected areas of my scalp after getting out of the shower not only kept it moisturized but the flaking has completely stopped.

The next treatment i had was for the flaking around my nose that i discovered on accident. Last year i put myself and was prescribed retinol by Curology with the formulation of: Tretinoin 0.01%, Clindamycin Phosphate 1%, and Azelaic Acid 4%.

This has completely kept the flaking down around my nose but i want to mention that some redness still remained. I understand that everyone’s condition will be different and not every product may respond to you the same way, but i wanted to put this out there to see if it helps anyone else. If you have any questions i can do my best to answer them.
