Any benefit to checking in early outside of an early port arrival time?

We’re staying in Waikiki. Looks like it’s going to be windy here. We planned for a beach day. Where’s a better place to go for a beach day on Saturday? We don’t have a car but don’t mind ubering (I know it will be expensive). Or any other suggestions on travel. Thank you.
