I have an ultrasound on Saturday and I am concerned about a false positive. I am not going to be in denial about any findings I am concerned about whether swelling from Orchitis infection making it positive. I also have been messing with the testicle a lot which I’m sure has not helped any inflammation.

Would the scan be able to differentiate between these?

On April 10th, I started having a deep, aching pain in the spermatic cord above my left testicle. It felt like it was in the cord itself, or right where it meets the epididymis. I assumed it was from doing a lot of deep lunges and an intense leg workout the day before.

The pain lasted about a week and then went away.

Fast forward to now—I’ve noticed what feels like a hydrocele along the cord above the testicle, and it seems connected to it. I didn’t want to go to the doctor at first, but I decided it was important and went in today.

The doctor said it felt a little firmer than the other side and asked about urinary symptoms. I’ve had a few minor ones, but nothing significant. He prescribed antibiotics and ordered a sonogram to rule out or check for testicular cancer.

Now I’m worried.

What’s confusing to me is how the pain came on suddenly, lasted about 8 days, and then disappeared. The only possible causes I can think of are heavy lifting without supportive underwear, or possibly irritation from oral sex or intercourse with my wife.

At this point, I’m hoping it’s just an infection, but also preparing for the worst.
