Over the last month, this Sub has had many posts promoting the idea that in Random battles, the difference in BBs WR/Skill across the teams is more influential on the outcome of the game then the DD difference in WR/Skill.

Evidence 1
Evidence 2
Evidence 3

Note these are all posts made by the same user pushing this narrative.

This argument (from my understanding) is displayed as: 'BB can kite and farm damage if friendly DD is dead, still impacting the game. If the BB is dead, the DD cannot impact the flank at all and will therefore lose the game.'

The evidence often has cherry picked games to push the narrative. I can do the same, the render here is where our team has the DD diff and kills the enemy 3 DDs within the first 5 minutes and completely roll the reds. They do not kill a single ship, likely because their DDs died first with 0 trades. As I say, a cherry picked game to push my argument.

We insta kill their 3 DDs .... They do not kill a single ship of our

But I believe the DD diff has more of an impact then the BB diff for a few reasons:

- Spotting Dominance, a positive DD diff allows your team to control spotting, therefore controlling engagements and positioning, allowing for further positive trades in your favour.

- Cap Control, a positive DD diff allows for much easier cap control and therefore point income to win the game.

- Removal of threat for BBs, a positive DD diff removes high alpha threats (torps) to the green BBs, allowing them to remain super tanky to cruisers and safely deal high alpha.

These promote steamrolls and in my opinion have more of an impact then a perma kiting BB. I believe this is also evident in the popular belief that an equally skilled player in all classes will be able to get a higher WR in DDs then in a BB due to their impact.

I can go on. The most recent video by G4nng perfectly highlights in multiple games how 1 DD playing well in the early game by removing another DD can heavily impact the course of the game. Forcing the enemy to lose spotting, perma kite and lose on points and HP trades.

I am curious as to everyones thoughts on what has more of an impact on randoms. To me it has to be the DD diff. CVs are so impactful because of their spotting, DDs are the next best class at spotting so surely this has a large outcome on the game if there is now asymmetric spotting (as seen in my example).

Is it a DD diff, BB diff, or just a individual skill diff?
