Hello let me start out by stating my goal with this project.
Goals:
Reduce or eliminate electric bill
System that can be maintained without the use of a latter
system that the fence is below 5 foot tall to maintain view's in certain directions.
Battery if possible
My father was a contractor for many many year and wishes to have a project that he can do himself. Outside of the electric final hoot up.
My parents are Living in Lake Havasu City, AZ in which they get more then 300 days of sun a year. They live on their fixed income now and pay between $350 and $400 a month ins electric. They have medical equipment that must be running 24/7 a day. 3 Fridges, 2 ice machines, O2 machine, 1 Freezer, 2 A/C system one traditional Whole home with an air handler, and 1 multi zone Mini Split for the Casita. the Property uses 30,000 KHW a year currently.
They are unwilling to have any thing on their Tile roof but were open to the Idea of a Solar Privacy fence. no Area of their fence is shaded for more then 4 hour of the daylight time. And they have a 8-12 foot drop off their retaining wall on 2 sides. I had Found Bifacial 710-730W panels from Canadian Solar that are 2384*1303*33 mm which would be a near drop in replacment for the panels of my fence or to mount them to. The fence if made of tube steel with hog fencing powder coated black. I can Set up 30 Panel without any modifications to the fence. But can make certain sections 2 panels side by side like 2 portait pictures instead of a single panoramic one. the fences are perpendicular to 210 degrees SW and 300 decrees NW.
Any Advice on systems part or other improvements are welcome.
Thank you for you time in advance
Edit 4/5/2026
adding pictures and Ground mount panels are ok as long as its not on the tiled roof. Ideas are welcome.
If we were able to find something to add solar onto the shade structures or have or a solar car port it would also be welcome.
As for the third to last photo our neighbor has bushes they keep fro privacy and would likely be willing to remove them if we had a privacy fence rather then see thru.
