There are obvious implications after the last chapter of 2BV. If Himawari can’t heal Inojin properly, who ever pushed him to take such measures to save the leaf like he did is going to have to answer for pushing him that far. Sai and Ino will want answers at the least, or justice at the most. It is definitely protocol in the leaf to search for perceived enemies of the village, especially in times like these of crisis where the Hokage has gone M.I.A and the leaf is under consecutive invasions. During Sai investigation of code, and his bringing into the fold by Shikamaru that will surely come to pass I believe, he will understand that Boruto has an ally in the shadows who also needs to be found. Once he gets to the bottom of all of inojin recent escapades, his son being approached by a toad will stand out like a sore thumb.
Here in lies my theory, I believe he will seek out anyone who has seen these toads and there’s a list; the active team 7, Kakashi and possibly the androids, maybe even Amado. But Kakashi will definitely have the most interesting intel about a person who enters the leaf some years ago, that had their chakra already registered in the leafs known chakra signatures, who displayed techniques very similar to Jiraiyas. He will have heard similar things from Konohamaru as well,especially about the toads, making this a valid lead to pursue. Sai may not know it yet, but he is on Koji’s trail. Kakashi could offer to search for the target, along with either Konohamaru or Mirai and qualified special jounin specialized in tracking, being the only witnesses who would be able to point Koji out. The success of this search depends greatly on Boruto’s cooperation.
Else where in the ten tails dimension, Code lies in wait, hidden in the vicinity of Bugs tree. It seems like he is waiting to pounce on whoever shows up with bugs seedling, or he is possibly wanting the seedling for some reason. He is another person who might seek out Koji to get to Boruto. Codes marks make him a top tier intel extractor because of their insane versatility regarding travel while hidden from sight and gathering audio intel by listening in on those marks he has secretly planted that could certainly go undetected. He knows Koji’s face and has way more to go on when it comes to the search.
Koji just served himself a double helping of incriminating acts by involving and ushering inojin in a direction where he almost got himself killed. There’s a big search party and he’s the honored guest. Ten directions is going to make so that he’ll see continuities where ppl are looking for him for many reasons, and he hasn’t made it easy for anyone but I think all of this is coming to a head.
