I've been targeting a company for a few years, aka I've been watching their job board looking for something I'm a shoe-in for, and recently I saw two positions open up. A former friend/former colleague works there so I connected with them and they gave me a referral for one. One of the roles is more of a systems management, the other is more of a people facing role. My background is more of a "generalist" so I have pretty good experience with both. I was referred to the systems management one because by the time I connected with my friend, the people facing role had been taken down.
After a couple of days, a recruiter reached out to me and I interviewed for the role. Today I had the call with the hiring manager for the systems management role. The interview went pretty well. She had a good poker face, but she complimented a lot of my answers and gave me her email to reach out if I had any questions. I sent her and the recruiter separate thank you notes. The recruiter responded this evening, said she was glad the call went well. She sent me the link to the job posting for the people facing role (which had apparently been reposted.) She said "are you interested in this role too, or just the [systems management role]?"
To be honest, the people facing role is what I would enjoy more, so of course I want to say yes. However, I'm concerned that saying I'm interested in the other role would make me look indecisive and potentially knock me out of the running for both. I really want to work at this company so I don't want to screw this up, but I do feel pretty psyched that they (hopefully) like me enough to consider me for both roles.
Any advice on how to respond would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
