This is my second round of egg freezing. Froze one cycle (15 retrieved, 12 frozen) at the end of 36 yo. Now I just turned 38, so it's been a year + a few months since the last ER.
I was prescribed Menopur 300 and Rekovelle 12 mg. Even though the dosage was the same as the last round, my brain has been foggy these days with many personal life stress (family health, house issues, etc.) and I was taking Menopur 150 for the first 9 days of stim. Just realized it last night and now I'm taking 300 as prescribed.
The first ultrasound (after 5 days of stim) showed 17 follicles, the biggest one being 9 mm and the smallest around 2mm.
The second ultrasound today (after 9 days of 150 units + 1 day of 300 units): 17 follicles, 3 x 16 mm, 1 x 14 mm, 8 x 12 mm and some other smaller ones (the smallest was 6-7 mm).
I told the doctor that I was mistaken the dosage. They said "ah that's why the last blood work showed lower hormone levels." And also said that my last cycle I was responding too strongly, but with age they thought my response got weaker. The eggs are not mature yet and they told me to come back in 2 days.
I feel stupid and feel like I'm ruining the number of eggs that I could be retrieving. It's not poor enough to cancel the cycle, and starting new doesn't guarantee more eggs either, so I will continue with this...
