I've tried with 2 different cables on 2 different systems one was a windows xp PCA and the second one is a MacBook pro 2009. My camcorder gives no sign of FireWire connection. I've inspected the camera's port for damage and it looks good. I've tried with Sony Vegas, quicktime and final cut pro.
