I got around 7200 rank in GATE DA this year. I'm currently in 6th sem of btech in a core branch at a tier 3 gov cllg. I've secured a paid internship in a non-tech core company which could lead to a ppo of around 6 lpa. I had prepared for gate from pw course...I just did dbms, dsa and already had some basic knowledge about ml....i was not able to practice at all and just completed the lectures and attempted 1 mock a week before the exam.
Now I want to prepare for gate DA 2027 as I'm interested in ml but I'm having some second thoughts....I've seen many yt videos where even top rankers are not getting good cllgs. I want to pursue mtech only from a good iit or iisc bcoz I'm already in a state gov cllg and I very well know the placement scenario here.
So now I'm confused if I should start preparing for GATE CS too as a backup option but I have no idea about the core subjects of cs so I'll have to start from the very basic. I will have to go for my internship for 3 months from May. Pls guide me if I should focus only on da or both cs+da or placements
