Home Insurance Claim Question
A small hose in our dishwasher split today and a bunch of water leaked under our vinyl floor. We are extremely hesitant to make a claim because the previous owners that installed this horrible flooring made our entire main level one big room/no transitions between rooms. This original flooring is also no longer made.
We are concerned they would only be willing to cover the replacement flooring for the one section of our kitchen instead of the entire main floor (it's crappy vinyl that breaks when taken apart). I read in our paperwork that they aren't responsible for matching existing decor/materials, but they literally can't replace part of this floor without doing all of it.
I don't want to make a claim and then be on the hook for the rest of the 80% of the flooring. At that point, why even make the claim?
Does anyone have experience with a situation like this?
