In 2019 I had a tTG-IGA score of 171, normal biopsy and told "I don't see any reason to change your diet" from a gastroenterologist. I have a niece with celiac, and a sister who recently had a tTG-IGA score of 160, and we're waiting on her biopsy results but the endoscopy looked mostly normal. Also, I have had unexplained peripheral neuropathy for 30 plus years. I am now 65 and wondering if I've had celiac all my life or maybe just gluten sensitivity? Is peripheral neuropathy enough to diagnose or do you have to have GI symptoms? I don't have a PCP right now since switching insurance with medicare so it would be several months before I can get new tests. What should I do? Assume I have celiac? Keep eating gluten for 6 months until I can get retested? Thank you for any help!
