Vet info: We've contacted the vet. The doctor performed an ultrasound and prescribed a 20 day course of antibiotics. They asked to come back in 20 days and redo blood work. We are 6 days into the course. They said it's not pancreatitis after the initial blood work.
Notes from the doctor:
The cause of a cholangiohepatitis and pancreatitis is hard to determine. Causes include bacterial infection or auto-immune disease. Fine needle aspirates of the gall bladder and/or liver are often required to achieve a diagnosis and are typically performed at a referral level.
Main Issue: Can't eat. Lost 15-20% of weight.
Cat Age: 2 years
Cat Sex + neuter info: Male, neutered.
Financial situation: Can afford the vet.
Greetings Reddit cat community.
Our guy is losing weight and eating very little. The doctors are not telling us anything concrete. He starts making noise in the video when he eats high-fat foods, including baked sardines. He makes the same noise when he eats normal wet food.
We are looking for someone who has had a similar problem and can share their experience.
Thank you
