Adopted GSD no

I posted a couple of weeks ago about my adopted GSD Mickey. The poser loves a good photo so thought I would stick a few on there.

This is my first GSD, I’ve only ever had small dogs. I’ve had family members with bigger dogs but I’ve never owned one only looked after them.

He drinks an ungodly amount of water. I’m talking bowl refills 5 times per day. I’m unsure if that is too much water in a day? He’s not doing a massive amount of exercise either because he’s under strict instructions on exercise per day as his muscles in his back legs need to develop more. Is this something I should take him to the vets for? Or am I just panicking and that’s a normal amount of water for a dog of his size. Could it just be to do with coming out of the shelter and it being an adjustment period?

Also, any advice on lead pulling? Any advice on his energetic behaviour with other dogs, he’s so friendly but I do want him to be less reactive with other dogs unless given permission.

To the people who gave me advice on his separation anxiety. Thank you! Worked a treat so far, he’s getting better and better everyday.

I’ve just adopted this wonderful boy. He’s settled in perfectly and is a wonderful doggo so far. He’s about 1 year 2 months old (the shelter is unsure as he was a stray)

I have a couple questions.

He has underdeveloped back legs due to spending time in the shelter, how can I help him with that without pushing him too far?

He has a lot of separation anxiety. How can I help him with that? As soon as I leave the house he starts howling. I’ve not been gone long. Maybe 15 mins when I pop to the shop or something.

Any other advice for me would be great as I have never had a GSD
