How to refresh sleep training with a 2 year old transitioning out of crib?!
hi guys, kind of at my wits end here so any and all advice would be appreciated. so we sleep trained our son with a modified Ferber around 8 months old and have had an AMAZING sleeper ever since, until very recently. so he turned 2 in March and about 10 days ago or so started climbing the crib. took the side off and he slept like a CHAMP for about 4 days. I guess he’s hitting a 2 year regression because all of a sudden day 5 he’s waking up inconsolable around 2 am-and the only way to get him back to sleep is either A) sit by him for at least an hour and a half until he finally falls deeply asleep or B) bring him into our room which I absolutely hate for many reasons, one being I’m pregnant and already not sleeping great. he’s usually in bed around 7:45 and sleeps until 7 like clockwork every single night, so I have no idea what to do here. attempts at Ferber are being met with an hr+ of resisting and screaming and he’s also fighting bedtime where it’s taking over an hour to get him to sleep. He’s very strong willed which I love but this is bringing me to my wits end lol. what do I do? thanks
EDIT; he’s usually down for a nap betwen 1:30-2pm and naps for an hr and a half. Bedtime is always a quick bath, Jammie’s/ sippy with some milk/ brush teeth/ story/ then bed and it takes about 25 minutes to get the entire routine done. we just recently picked back up potty training but after his evening bath he’s still going into an overnight diaper since hes recent to potty training to avoid overnight accidents
