I recently joined the e-Power family here in Nairobi with a 2018 model I bought Ex-Japan. Honestly, the car itself is incredible. For anyone driving in our traffic, the fuel economy is mind-blowing (I’m getting over 23km/L), and the instant torque makes it so zippy and fun to drive. It feels like the perfect city car.

However, I’ve run into a really strange issue with the key fobs and I’m hoping someone here has dealt with this.

When I first got the car, the keys were working perfectly. But literally the next day, they started acting up—on and off. I changed the batteries in both fobs immediately, but the problem persisted. Fast forward three weeks, and now neither key fob will lock or unlock the car at all. I have to do everything manually.

The car still starts if I place the fob right against the ignition button, but I get the orange "key" light on the dashboard constantly (though sometimes it disappears for a bit). I've had the fobs themselves checked and was told they are sending out a signal perfectly. The main suspect now is the internal receiver in the car, and I've been told I need to source a replacement.

Has anyone else with a Note e-Power (or any modern Nissan) experienced the receiver just dying like this? Is it a common fault, or could it be something as simple as a fuse or a loose connection before I start hunting for a new module?

Any advice or mechanic recommendations in Nairobi who are pros at the e-Power electronics would be highly appreciated!
