Hey everyone,

I recently started Adeptus Custodes in 40k and currently own the Combat Patrol. I’m considering picking up the Legio Custodes Battlegroup from Horus Heresy because it seems like great value, but I want to make sure I don’t shoot myself in the foot for 40k play—especially tournaments.

From what I understand, most of the models can be used as Custodian Guard in 40k, depending on loadout (spears, shields, etc.), but I’m a bit unsure about a few things:

• Are there any units in the Battlegroup that don’t translate well into 40k datasheets?
• Do tournaments usually accept Horus Heresy models as 40k equivalents without issues?
• Is there anything I should build or avoid (weapon choices, squad composition) to stay WYSIWYG-compliant?
• Any common pitfalls when mixing 30k and 40k Custodes?

I’m totally fine with doing minor kitbashing if needed, just want to avoid building something that later becomes unusable or confusing in competitive play.
