Hi all,

I recently got diagnosed with SIBO/IMO, methane dominant (pretty high levels) after months of intense bloating and distension. I have a history of candida issues, so after speaking with a GI and doing my own research, I decided to give the elemental diet a go next week. I am leaning toward physicians ED dextrose free (over mbiota) but am taste tasting with samples this weekend. I did read someone tried Vita Aid also and it worked well but wasn’t sure if that’s semi elemental or what so might be hard to get calories in?

I am nervous to introduce food after so wondering if you guys have tips or if introducing food sooner would make more sense- what’s worked for you guys? I am also planning to meet with a nutritionist to help with that component.

Here’s my plan so far:

Week 1 — Prep + Starve
• Colonoscopy prep (biofilm disruption + full flush)
• Elemental diet begins immediately after
• Add Atrantil (archaea attack + pushes methane lower into colon)
• Olive leaf extract from day 1 (yeast coverage during vulnerable post-prep window)
• Caprylic acid from day 1 (yeast coverage)
• Nystatin (ongoing gut yeast coverage)
• Prucalopride (prokinetic)

Week 2 — Attack
• Elemental diet continues + continue meds
• Add Allicin extract (methane-specific antimicrobial, different mechanism to Atrantil) - will this even make a difference while on the ED?

Week 3 — Push
• Elemental diet continues
• All of the above continue
• Start introducing foods? Help?

Appreciate any advice/experiences! Thanks guys!

Also- any GI docs in NYC or NJ or telehealth that you recommend? So hard to get in to see anyone but I want them to validate my protocol and prescribe me nystatin and prucalopride.
