My coworker is the worst.
I work at a bar and about 6 months ago they decided to hire one of our regular patrons to bartend one night a week after we unexpectedly found ourselves without anyone to work Wednesdays since most of the employees have two jobs. Hiring a drunk who's at the bar from opening to close was a bad idea. Especially one thats never had a job in her life, dropped out of middle school, and can't count money. I don't know whose bright idea it was to hire her... I'm still in disbelief... and I was right about everything.
First of all, she's a complete attention whore, narcissist, and definitely has histrionic personality disorder. She has insane fits of jealousy when she's not the center of attention for 2 seconds and she needs all the men to love her. She treats women like crap. She flirts with husbands or boyfriends right in front of their partners but it goes far beyond the friendly flirting that most bartenders do, and we've lost so many customers because of this behavior. She especially targeted me because she's obsessed with my ex (we ended things on good terms a decade ago and remain friends) so she's constantly trying to set me up to make me look like I'm doing something wrong at work because she wants me to get fired. Oh, I should add, she's also MARRIED with kids, and yes people have tried to tell her husband she's cheating on him with patrons but he doesn't seem to care as long as she's out of his hair. Clearly she annoys him as well. Oh and she has very inappropriately messaged coworkers husbands being flirty with them.
She's completely childish. Not only setting me up but has now tried to set up other employees to make them look bad. She messages regular patrons falsehoods about us trying to get them on her side. Most of our patrons think she's slow and stupid, but they feel bad for her because of this. We regularly get complaints that shes socializing during her shifts instead of being behind the bar where she should be. She complains about everything even though she's the only one breaking the rules. She'll kick everyone out a half hour before closing and stay there hanging out and drinking on the clock for 2 hours. I'm in charge of the cleaning so she starting taking it upon herself to do all my tasks but does everything wrong or uses up all the supplies I've bought with my own money, or breaks equipment. I asked her to stop and now she treats it like a game and tries to clean everything she possibly can but acts childish about it like she's rubbing it in my face that she can do whatever she wants. She has made life hell for all of the other employees and its like working with an evil teenager even though she's a 40yr old woman, but she sucks the managers asshole so she thinks we're exaggerating.
We're not allowed to record people without their knowledge at work so theres not much we can do to prove how she behaves when the manager isn't around. The thing is the bar we work at is part of a private club with a board that can overrule the manager. Myself and the other employees want to write a joint letter to the board making them aware of her behavior. I'm in charge of writing the letter because I am the best writer, but I've never written a letter on behalf of multiple people so I'm not 100% sure where to start. Any tips on how I could open the complaint would be greatly appreciated.
And if nothing comes of it tips on how to deal with an annoying childish manipulative monster of a human would also be appreciated because none of us want to quit or give up just yet.
