Boiler Condensate Drain Issue

Boiler Condensate Drain Issue

The property manager of a condo property shared this picture and a couple local chain vendor bids as the only evidence that this boiler condensate drain needs to be trenched out about 10 feet through the concrete and replaced.

This is currently the only evidence I have and I'm not saying replacement is necessarily wrong- just that more evidence might be useful. The vertical part of the drain is clearly clogged up with corroded cast iron, dirt and other grime, but wouldn't it be appropriate to just have maintenance or a handyman clean out that drain and at least scope the horizontal part of the drain line before busting up concrete?

This is like a 70-year-old building and I'm sure the cast iron is original and not in great shape, but if it's not 'crushed' then it might be possible to just line the pipe, no?

This boiler room sits at a high point in a below-grade garage beneath the condo building. There are lower-lying, manhole covered, drains closer to the building's interior of that same floor that would handle substantial flooding and I believe are the destination for this drain. I'm simply wondering if doing a little leg work to find out if lining isn't a viable solution to avoid low 5 figures of concrete demolition and pipe replacement (this is a high cost of living area).

Thanks
