My daughter is almost 11 months old and will rarely eat food, I started her on purées at 6 months then moved onto mashed “solid” foods. From the beginning she’s never wanted to eat much, I will even eat with her to try to help, and still now I’ll give her yogurt or puréed pouches and she doesn’t really like those either. She is ebf and at her 9 month check up, I told her nurse practitioner about these concerns and he said breast milk is very sweet so he’s noticed sometimes breastfed babies have a harder time with solids just since you don’t want them to have really sugary sweet things at this age so they won’t be very interested, he told me not to worry about it and just keep trying. She is a healthy baby and has always stayed in the 90’s for percentile. I plan to breastfeed as long as possible but as her 1st birthday gets closer, knowing she’ll then need to start relying on food as her main source of nutrition I am very worried about it.
The food situation has been the most anxiety filled part of motherhood for me, between worrying about her choking, being allergic and just not eating, it’s always in the back of my mind stressing me out.
Any advice on maybe what to try or meals she’d like or just experience with this would be so appreciated!
