
1st time running outside W5 R3 completed
First time poster, I started my journey back in January initially not using the C25K programme and just starting to jog on a treadmill I have just completed my 1st 20 minute run and although I enjoyed and pushed through to ensure I didn't walk any of it I feel like I still have lots to improve on, my heart rate stayed very high throughout the run and I seemed to run a lot faster than I do on a treadmill (I have only ever run on a treadmill as i was very nervous to run out in the wild), is there any tips out there that I can use to try I slow myself down so I don't burnout so quickly.
For context I'm a shift worker and did the run after a night shift only getting around 4 hours sleep and without eating much beforehand not sure if this is why I struggled to keep my heartrate down.
Even with this in mind I'm very happy with the result and shocked I managed it and will be moving on to W6 potentially going back to W5R3 to see if I can better the result.
