So I've been doing research about various major technologies that affected animation for a school project (they let us chose topics we were interested/ passionate about,) and since Ivan Sutherland's sketchpad brought visual stuff to computers, I thought it was important to include. While I have information about how it brought graphical interfaces to computers, knowing whether it used vectors or rasters would be very helpful to keeping the connection to specifically art and animation intact. My current hypothesis is that it used vectors because in video demonstrations, there was the ability to automatically adjust lines in a way that (to me at least,) looked like how vector lines behave. I would love the clarification that I have not been able to find myself, please and thank you!
