Hello, I have a question regarding Plasma balls. I need a bigger dome for my project but the big one requires 12V and the small one only 5V.

I noticed that if I'll put the wick that requires only 5V into the bigger plasma ball dome (the one that needs 12V) it does still work and generate the look I'm going for, but I wanna make sure that it's safe and not a hazard.

Theoretically I don't see why it would be but need to make sure.

Does anyone have any insight on this? I'm not a professional so I'd really appreciate some help in this department and don't know where else to ask. Please and thank you.
