New player: I love how it feels going from Fallen Order to Jedi Survivor, and playing them back to back feels so good.
Preamble: I went into Fallen Order knowing about >!Vader!< at the end, and that you meet a beautiful Dathomirian who can do no wrong (Malicos, not Merrin). I know nothing about Jedi Survivor and am entirely separated from spoilers. Please do not post spoilers in this thread, I am muting the sub after this until I finish it. :--)
At any rate, I started Fallen Order at Jedi Master difficulty and genuinely had a hard time at points, especially in the final fight. I've played the Souls games, mainly Bloodborne and Elden Ring especially, and I really enjoyed that you truly feel like a Jedi Padawan with some training and had to work your way up. It reminded me of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1 & 2, personal favorites of mine.
I'm an hour into Jedi Survivor and it feels like the ultimate Jedi power fantasy. It feels so good taking all of the experience from Fallen Order and going into Survivor feeling like I, along with Cal Kestis, are more experienced and used to dealing with mooks from the Empire. Even the movement and animations feel more smooth and confident. There were times in Fallen Order where you feel yourself flailing to get a swing off before a Trooper gets a hit on you, but there is so much less pressure now even in fights where you are outnumbered. It just feels so good to go into the game with all of your abilities from the former fluidly available to you.
It's also really fun being locked in on fighting the Empire rather than being in hiding. I like that you start on >!Coruscant!< with a dedicated crew that have history together. I like that I have my boy Bode with me to tear the club up. It just feels like a really great progression to Cal's story.
Anyway, see you all when I finish the game, or come back cap in hand when I am out of the tutorial area and getting completely annihilated by every dope fresh out of the Imperial Military Academy.
