Where do you see Indian IT industry after 5 years?

One of the US based Investment groups and we were discussing about staffing and resources. I found few points worthy to look into as it may trouble Indian IT industry:

  1. Required resources are already reduced due to usage of AI and after 5 years it may go almost half.
  2. Salaries in India have risen tremendously for developers with 4-5 years experience. It’s as good as hiring green resource in US especially from Texas region where salaries are not that high and in most cases, US freshers are equivalent to 3-4 years experienced Indian developers.
  3. Hiring freshers from US provides good timezone overlap and entrepreneurs within his network said that this new generation of US are smart, hardworking and works 8-10 hours sincerely (without phones as compared to India) and also provide support in weekends when pre-planned. Many releases are planned on weekends.
  4. LATAM turning into an important IT hub since past couple of years due to nearshore (same timezone). So they prefer Senior Developers from there by paying 30% premium than India.

So what’s your take on this as majority of Indian software companies rely on US market. We are already seeing big layoffs as well as silent layoffs in India. Demand of few new technologies are high but after couple of years, salaries for those technologies will also go low (almost like React). Do you see this as one-off scenario or there are high chances of this?
