Just face it: CR didn’t throw
They tried both D.Va and Winston with Catstation and lost map 1. We all saw how well VL did on Catstation against zeta today. So CR probably just isn’t as good as VL on Catstation comp.
Then they won map 2 by using Zarya with Catstation, probably because Max is better on Zarya than KSG.
But then Zarya is banned by VL on map 3, leaving CR no option but to:
(a) try D.Va + Catstation;
(b) try Mauga + Catstation;
(c) try the soldier+sym counter comp which Falcons just used on the day before on the same map and won against VL;
D.Va has proven to be a wrong choice by map 1; (and we all saw how good KSG is on D.Va today)
Mauga won’t work on Gibraltar. Even if it does work, it should be played by Junbin instead of Max.
Which leaves CR no other option but (c). Yet they lost.
You can argue that they didn’t try to explore more options. But they don’t need to bc they already secured their group 1st seed. Instead, they need to test if that counter comp works.
Conclusions: CR didn’t throw. And they owe Falcons NOTHING.
