Hello Nikonites,

I bumped my Nikon D500 on a rock by accident and the tilting monitor cracked. The display still functions but the glass is chipped/cracked. At a later point the multi selector button popped off, I’m not sure when or why and I can’t find the button. Are these the kind of repairs that should I ship it to Nikon for so that it is guaranteed to be done correctly or will a local repair shop be able to complete them without much risk of damaging the camera? About how much do you think this should cost me through either option? For reference I live in the Albuquerque area.
