Hi! Any OTs out there who left stable OT jobs to pursue their own private practice? What was your experience?

My situation- currently work for a school in NYC - job is decent, good pay, good benefits, hours and time off. But living in NYC is very expensive and Im in the phase of wanting to start a new family. Taxed heavily.

My other option is move to Tampa Bay FL and start a private practice because of the private pay and increased demand for peds ot. My goal is not to be a massive clinic more of a boutique operation trying to match my nyc income- Much lower cost of living. No state income tax.

Any thoughts appreciated - I do have startup funds- would love advice/share your experience if you tried or went through something similar? Thanks
