Hello! I’m an incoming freshman for Fall 2026, and I recently received an email saying my advisors have registered me for classes. I’m a bit confused about why I was placed into certain courses.
For example, my schedule currently shows Precalculus Algebra & Trigonometry, but I earned dual enrollment credit for that in 10th grade. I’m also registered for two humanities/history courses (Introduction to World Religions and Daily Life in Ancient Rome) which I don’t have much interest in taking. I understand that gen ed classes are required but I was hoping to have the opportunity to review and choose from the classes as I don't really like my current options.
Is this standard for incoming freshmen? Should I plan to change my schedule during orientation, or is it better to reach out to advising now? I’d really appreciate any input. Thanks!
