NGD - Ultra II - string question
This was sold as “used”, but I couldn’t find a mark on it. Brand new Fender box, all the case candy. I only had about 60 minutes yesterday to play it, but I like it a lot. I was originally gonna do a parts Telecaster, so I was searching for the widest stock Fender neck available. This one came up and had nearly all of the features that I was gonna put on a custom parts guitar anyway so I figured “why not?”
Now to the string question: this has the short/post locking tuners. What heavier gauge of strings do you use in your Tele’s? This new one came with 9-42 which are a little light for my tastes. I typically use Light Top/Heavy Bottom on my guitars… 010, .013, .017, .030, .042, .052. Any issues using these with the locking tuners? How about the nut slots - do these need to be widened?
