Hi everyone,
I recently graduated with a BS in Information Technology and I’ve been actively applying for junior web developer roles over the past few weeks.
I’ve been applying through LinkedIn, Indeed, and JobStreet, and I’ve been tailoring my resume based on each job description. So far though, I’ve barely gotten any responses, and I’m trying to figure out what I might be doing wrong.
For context, I’ve worked on several projects including:
- A full-stack booking system with backend logic and database management
- API-based applications with proper error handling and validation
- A WordPress-based system with dynamic content and backend integration
My main stack includes React, Node.js, Laravel, and MySQL.
I know the market is competitive, especially for entry-level roles, but I’m open to feedback on anything I can improve — resume, portfolio, approach, or even where I should be applying.
Also open to junior roles, internships, freelance work, or even just contributing to real-world projects to gain more experience.
If anyone here has gone through the same phase or has advice, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks!
