I'm thinking of designing a throw for my nephew is about to graduate in May. (it's going to be a late present)
I was thinking his school colors. Blue and Gold. Gold for the trim and Blue for the body with his name and grad year. '26 in gold (for contrast)
Now my question is would it be feasible for a beginner (me) to knit a pattern, or would it be better for me to crochet his name and '26 (or 2026) and stitch it on? Or embroider the name and year?
So for instance,
Example one: stockinette stitch B, switch color G, switch color back. etc etc.
Example two: knit the entire throw. Separately, crochet letters and numbers and stitch it onto the throw. (two layers)
Example three: knit the entire throw, embroider the name and year ( one-ish layer, and will be thick? in embroidered areas?)
