How did she even get that position of power?? What does she even do?
As a parent, imagine the pride of watching your teenage daughter, still a minor, warmly acknowledged by the Speaker of the Senate during what should have been a moment of inspiration and encouragement. Then imagine the shock of seeing a nominated Senator entrusted specifically with representing the dignity and interests of women and girls stand up not to celebrate her, but to insinuate that the child was present to offer 'other' favors to senators.
I think she deserves to be given a podium and explain to us the thought process behind that statement she made.
Conduct of this nature deserves clear condemnation and firm disciplinary action, because no child should ever be subjected to such humiliation in the national spotlight.
The worst part is she refuses to take accountability for her actions and throws the ball back at people who are actually offended. She further hides behind the theatrical apology she made and thinks that's enough. If she has any dignity left she should consider resigning.
