This is inspired by watching - and loving - Widow's Bay and trying to explain to all my friends that Mathew Rhys is the last Columbo murderer.

The first time I clock him was in 2003 in Columbo Loves the Nightlife (the final Columbo TV movie). Mathew Rhys played a "rave owner" who killed his partner. I watched with my Dad who was also a huge Columbo fan and it was the only Columbo we watched as it aired together.

So for me, Mr. Rhys has a HUGE HONOR that nobody else really registers.

So...

Do y'all have an actor like that. They have a role that has real personal importance to you and you think of every time you see them, but most would not think of it/recognize the significance?

Just watched Fearless for the pod... and I had to break it into 2 viewings because - like David - I'm afraid to fly.

And this might be the worst plane crash I've seen in films because...

  1. It feels very realistic (unlike the one in say Send Help)
  2. They keep flashing back to it. I could never relax in this movie for fear they were going to go back on the plane.
  3. (This is a big one) It starts with the hero saying "something's wrong" before it starts. THIS is how I ALWAYS fear it's going to go down for me. I spend my whole flight dreading that moment.

And now, even talking about it... I'm kinda shaking. I don't envy David having to talk about this movie for 4 hours (with ads)
